Our sailboat is a 2005 Lagoon 380 S2 catamaran built in France. We purchased it in St. Augustine, Florida on December 21, 2018.
It is an owner’s version layout, which means it has 3 cabins, 2 baths (heads) instead of 4 cabins, 2 baths like the charter version. This means the starboard hull where we sleep has one less cabin, leaving more space for storage and an expanded bathroom.
Our boat’s name is Sunnyside. We wanted to give her a name that represented our new adventure and take on life. We drew inspiration from trail names at Steamboat Ski Resort where we previously lived and worked for over a decade.
After much debate, Sunnyside hit all the notes. Easy to say, spell, and gives off a fitting, lighthearted vibe.
